ITN On launches Christmas channel on YouTube

ITN On launched the first official Christmas channel on YouTube today.

The multimedia video production arm of ITN will produce around 200 pieces of original content for the video-sharing site between now and January, according to reports.

ITN On’s Christmas channel, which is also available as a free iPhone app, features cooking, toys and pantomime content, including “how to” guides on decorating and present-wrapping.

It also features childrens’ reviews on the latest toys and festive programming that links to ITN On’s existing content.

The company has teamed up with the Jerusalem Trust and Jerusalem Production to support the venture.

As part of the deal, Jerusalem Productions has made available original television content to be shown online for the first time, including the one-off animation Xmas Files and A Small Miracle, which was broadcast on ITV in 2002.

ITN On said the partnership should pull in “millions of views” on YouTube.

ITN On already attracts around 25 million views a month with its six existing channels on the Google-owned site.
