Its The End For Me

Its The End For Me

IPC has today announced that it is to close its women’s weekly magazine, Me. The last issue to be published will be cover-dated January 11, 1995. IPC Weeklies Group managing director, Nigel Davidson, said “Sales of Me have not responded to a long-term intensive programme of editorial development. Me is a magazine of the 80’s that has struggled hard to become properly established in the economic realities of the ’90s”.

IPC pointed to the launch of Eva to demonstrate that the sector as a whole is still healthy.

Me magazine was launched in 1989 and sales have been steadily dropping. Its latest ABC figure of 313,197 was down 22% on the same period 1993.
