ITV And BBC Announce Fixtures For Euro ’96

ITV and the BBC have announced their joint coverage of Euro ’96. England and Scotland’s final group games, which will decide their quarter-fate in Euro ’96, will be screened live by ITV as will the opening ceremony and England’s first game against Switzerland. Scotland’s first game, against Holland, will also be shown on ITV.

Other games on ITV include Germany’s clash with Russia, and France taking on Spain. This will be followed by highlights of England’s game with Scotland, which is being shown exclusively on BBC-TV. The BBC also has rights to the quarter-final matches – when the competition reaches the knock-out phase.

BBC-TV and ITV have drawn up a complimentary schedule of live games, and there will be no duplication of live games until the final stages of the competition. Their joint broadcasting will also provide coverage for the rest of the world.
