ITV & BSkyB Football Agreement?
ITV is believed to be currently negotiating with BSkyB the rights to the Endsleigh League football. The agreement is understood to allow BSkyB and the BBC continued coverage of the Premier League and ITV shared coverage of Endsleigh football with BSkyB. ITV is hoping for a share of the rights to to FA Cup football.
ITV is thought to understand that it must deal with Sky if it wants to win access to major sporting events. At present the Premier League sells its rights to the BBC and BSkyB, while the Football Association sells the FA Cup to the same broadcasters. ITV holds the rights to the Coca Cola Cup and the Endsleigh League, obtained from the League itself.
