ITV Pulls Out Of Lottery Bid
ITV has announced today that it has pulled out of its bid to televise the National Lottery because of ITC regulations. Explaining the decision ITV Network Centre chief executive, Andrew Quinn, said that ITV’s proposal met all but one of Camelot’s specifications. This was the automatic selection of contestants for a mid-week game show exclusively through the purchase of a lottery scratch card and would have by-passed the ITC’s required standard of editorial control by the broadcaster.
