ITV Response To Third Eastenders

ITV Response To Third Eastenders

Marcus Plantin, ITV Network Director has revealed ITV’s response to the third episode of Eastenders, scheduled to go out on a Monday night at 8pm. On Monday 11 April Coronation Street is to go out earlier, at 7.20pm to allow time for a major James Bond film, The Living Daylights. The following Monday there is an-hour long Coronation Street Special, followed by Heartbeat, to try and encourage viewers to stay with ITV. There were fears that World In Action, the usual 8.30pm slot, was not strong enough to attract viewers back to ITV after Eastenders. A longer-term Monday night schedule is expected to be announced next week.

Marcus Plantin said, “I’ve rolled out some of ITV’s biggest guns for our viewers. They will ensure that ITV continues to win Monday nights.”
