ITV Sales Appoints Knight To Lead Sponsorship Division

ITV Sales Appoints Knight To Lead Sponsorship Division

ITV Sales has announced the appointment of Gary Knight as head of sponsorship and branded content following the completion of Carlton and Granada’s multibillion pound merger earlier this month.

Knight takes up the position at the newly created company with immediate effect after having moved from Granada Enterprises, where he has been executive director of commercial ventures for the last three years.

The new position will see Knight head-up the existing ITV sponsorship team under the guidance of Gary Digby, the former Carlton Sales boss, who was appointed to the role of ITV sales director last December after an extensive selection process.

Digby said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Gary Knight to the position of head of sponsorship and branded content. I am very pleased to have been able to secure Gary in this role as he has an unprecedented reputation for success in this area.”

The last few months have seen ITV Sales managing director, Graham Duff, bolster his senior management line-up with a number of key appointments. Simon Lent, deputy managing director at Granada Enterprises, was recently named as London sales leader and three other senior directors have been recruited to help lead the combined sales operation (see Duff Names Carlton’s Digby As ITV Sales Director).

ITV Sales also recently poached RAB managing director, Justin Sampson, to take up a new role designed to improve the organisation’s relationship with advertisers. Sampson will work to ensure that the customer is put at the heart of all aspects of the sales operation from the client facing sales team and business-to-business arm to the trade marketing division (see ITV Poaches RAB’s Sampson To Boost Advertiser Relations).
