ITV Set For Restructure

ITV Set For Restructure

It is rumoured that the ITV Network Centre is gearing up for a major restructuring programme which would see the appointment of a chief executive and a change to a limited company.

The plan is aimed at creating more cohesion and unity among the ITV companies, something which the companies themselves and the ITC are said to be keen on developing. Recent disputes such as Bruce Gyngell, chief of YTTV, dropping Hollywood Lovers from his schedule due to concern over taste and decency and the problems which arise due to the London franchise split have all taken their toll on the reputation of the channel to both viewers and advertisers.

It is hoped that the creation of an ITV chief executive would provide mediation and prevent such disputes going public and the transformation into a limited company would provide Network Centre staff with more accountability. Marcus Plantin, network director, is tipped as a possible chief executive.
