ITV Signs Major Film Deal
ITV and Sony Pictures Entertainment have today announced the signing of a major film acquisition deal, which is ITV’s largest ever with a Hollywood distributor.
The multi-million pound deal between ITV and Columbia TriStar International Television, a Sony company, covers major movies, classics as well as television films and mini-series.
Among the titles acquired by ITV under the agreement are Sleepless In Seattle, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Basic Instinct, and forthcoming releases such as Age of Innocence and Look Who’s Talking Now. Marcus Plantin, ITV Network Director, said that the deal “represents a major step forward in ensuring our viewers continue to have the very best in film entertainment.”
Nicholas Bingham, President of TriStar Television said that the ITV Network will be provided with “a dependable pipeline of some of the most commercially and critically exciting movies and tele-films in the world”.
