ITV Spring/Summer Schedule

ITV today launched its Spring/Summer TV schedule which begins transmission on 3rd May.

The new schedule shows drama every night of the week; ranging from new series such as Peak Practice, starring Kevin Whately as a doctor joining a practice in the Peak District and Body and Soul about a nun forced to leave the convent for a new life in the world outside, to the return of old favourites such as Taggart, Stay Lucky and Jeeves and Wooster. In addition there will be a number of self contained midweek peak time mini – series, plus one off dramas.

Prime Suspect II will be repeated on 27th June and 4th July, and London’s Burning and the Darling Buds of May will be re-run on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.

New programmes for comedy/entertainment include; Rik Mayall Presents – three films starring Mayall, Tony Slattery in Just A Gigolo and Jonathan Ross in search of the weird and wonderful in Fantastic Facts. New sit-coms include Gingerbread Girls and What You Lookin’ At, set in an inner city youth hostel.

Factual documentaries come in the shape of a documentary series about Neil Kinnock and Lifeboat, which chronicles a year in the life of a South Devon RNLI.

Sport will be represented in the schedule by the British Lions Rugby Tour along with European football on a Wednesday and international athletics on a Friday. Boxing will remain high on the agenda with ITV having signed an exclusive deal with Riddick Bowe to show his next four title fights.
