ITV Takes Majority Viewing Share In Last Year

ITV took 31.2% of television viewing in the year to 30 September 1999, whilst BBC1’s share came in at 28.6%, according to figures just released by the Independent Television Commission (ITC). Channel 4’s share came in at 9.9%, just behind BBC2 with 10.9%. Channel 5 broke the five percent barrier with a 5.2% share of viewing.

Digital viewing is currently too small and there are very few digital-only TV channels; as such no digital figures are included in the ITC’s quarterly audience share figures report.
