ITV Unveils New Interactive Ads

Granada Enterprises has successfully launched three new interactive advertising campaigns, reflecting its commitment to the medium.

The ads, for Honda, Ford and BSkyB are the first to air on ITV1 and ITV2 since the broadcaster secured a deal with Sky Interactive to develop its interactive advertising portfolio (see ITV Launches New Interactive Platform For Viewers).

The new ad formats allow viewers to interact with these brands whilst still viewing the current ITV channel in full picture. Ford, Honda and Sky will be using Sky Interactive’s WML impulse response service to run their interactive campaigns on ITV’s channels during the autumn.

Commenting on the initiative, Andrea Lippett, controller of Interactive Sales at Granada Enterprises, said: “We are delighted to launch interactive advertising on ITV with such high profile brands. For the first time advertisers can engage with a mass audience on both a network and regional basis.

She continued: “We are talking to a raft of other advertisers about running their interactive advertising campaigns in the run up to Christmas as well as sponsoring interactive programming.”

Granada Enterprises recently secured Woolworths to sponsor ITV’s annual National Music Awards show (see Granada Secures Woolworths For Music Sponsorship).
