ITV Winter Schedule

Today saw the launch of the ITV 1996 Winter Schedule which aims to keep the pressure on to maintain their high viewing share against the BBC and also to maintain ITV’s position as the most successful commercial channel in the wake of the Channel 5 announcement.

Highlights include comedy from Jack Dee, Paul Merton and Freddie Starr and a new series of The Shane Richie experience in which every week a lucky couple will be married on air. Drama sees a return for Kavanagh QC, Band Of Gold and Lynda La Plante’s The Governor. There are also new drama series including Thief Takers which had its pilot earlier this year and Call Red based on a helicopter emergency team at King Allfred’s Hospital.

Sport will include coverage of the Coca-Cola Cup and the Five Nations European Clubs Rugby Cup. Film premieres include A Few Good Men, A League Of Their Own and Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
