ITV1’s New Drama Races Ahead Of New Tricks

ITV ITV1’s new drama starring Juliet Stevenson debuted last night with more than six million viewers, knocking BBC One’s New Tricks off its usual Monday evening top spot.

Place of Execution, which saw Stevenson playing a journalist working on a documentary about a girl who disappeared, attracted over 6.3 million peak viewers and a 26% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.

Meanwhile, BBC One’s New Tricks fell behind, pulling in just five million viewers with a 21.7% audience share.

BBC Two’s second episode of Amazon with Bruce Parry managed to secure almost 10% of the audience share with 2.4 million peak viewers.

Channel 4’s The Price of Property just topped Channel Five’s Extreme Fishing with Robson Green show, attracting 1.1 million average viewers to Five’s one million viewers.

Earlier in the evening, the soaps saw the highest viewing figures, with ITV1’s Coronation Street banking more than nine million peak viewers, while BBC One’s Eastenders pulled in over 8.9 million.
