ITV is to launch its new digital television channel ITV2 this evening at 7pm from its London Studios on the bank of the River Thames (see Newsline).
Pop star Billie and footballer-turned-film star Vinnie Jones will be pushing the plunger to mark the beginning of the channel’s transmission which will broadcast free-to-air throughout England and Wales.
Special 1st night programmes will include It Takes 2, intended to showcase some of the channel’s items in store, and Take 2 For Sport, a preview of ITV2’s sporting coverage.
