ITV2 Signs Carriage Deal With Cable London

New entertainment channel, ITV2, has signed a carriage with Cable London that will see the channel become available to all of Cable London’s residential analogue television customers. ITV2, which launched in December last year (see ITV2 – Not Entirely A Different View), will be accessible to over 96,000 subscribers in north London from 1 June.

Andrew Chowns, ITV2’s commercial director, said: “It is important for ITV2 and its advertisers to be available on this service and I’m delighted that we have agreed carriage terms with Cable London.”

ITV2 is currently available in England and Wales only on digital television via ONdigital, the company 50:50 owned by Carlton and Granada. Cable & Wireless Communications customers can also receive the channel. Sky Digital subscribers cannot receive either ITV2 or the main ITV channel, as the Network has refused to let its services by carried by Sky (see BSkyB Fails To Gain Access To ITV2).
