ITV2 To Show More Popstars: The Rivals Extra Shows

ITV2 has announced plans to show further Popstars: The Rivals Extra programmes on Sunday nights.

There will be nine 30-minute shows which will include behind the scenes footage and extra information on the contestants. The series will be hosted by former Pop Idol runner up Hayley Evetts.

ITV2 is clearly hoping to emulate the audiences it achieved for last year’s Pop Idol Extra: The Result, which attracted the channel’s biggest ever audience. Between 9.45pm and 10.45pm the programme averaged 1.5 million and a 13% share and peaked with 2.5 million viewers and a 24% share.(see Pop Idol Is A Hit For ITV)

ITV2 is also launching a Blind Date spin off show called: Blind Date: Kiss and Tell, which aims to attract viewers of the original ITV1 show (see ITV2 launches Blind Date Spin Off Show).
