ITV2’s Interactive Millionaire Hits The Spot

The first showing of ITV2’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Interactive (see ITV2 To Launch Interactive Millionaire) drew over 200,000 viewers and achieved a 2% share in what the channel claims is one of its largest audiences since it launched three years ago.

The programme, which was shown simultaneously with the ITV1 version, saw viewing peak at 248,100 between 8.30pm and 8.45pm last Saturday and according to ITV2 this was higher than Friends on Sky One, The Weakest Link/Robot Wars on BBC Choice and Father Ted on E4, which were also showing at this time.

The first episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Interactive is the third most popular show to air on ITV2 since its launch (see ITV2 Ready For Take-Off). The programme rates behind Pop Idol Extra, which drew an audience of 226,400 last Saturday and a first run episode of Coronation Street, which attracted 673,000 viewers last month (see ITV2 Achieves 6.6% Audience Share).

ITV2’s viewing was boosted by its entry onto Sky’s digital platform last week (see Digital Truce For ITV And Sky) and the channel is claiming shares above the seasonal average.
