ITV’s This Morning Courts Complaints

ITV’s This Morning Courts Complaints

ITV’s popular daytime show This Morning has been subject to complaint, according to the latest Independent Television Commission’s report on Programme Complaints and Interventions. The show received a total of 15 complaints from viewers.

Eight of these were concerned with an edition of the programme in which four nudists appeared in a studio discussion with the studio presenters. The complainants objected to nudity on a daytime show, but the ITC did not uphold the complaints as there is no prohibition of nudity before the 9pm watershed in the ITC Programme Code. The ITC also decided that the issue was handled with tact and discretion.

The second batch of complaints were concerned with an item on the programme about testicular cancer, which they felt was an inappropriate subject for the daytime programme. The ITC did not uphold these complaints either however, on the grounds that there were a number of warnings beforehand, and the subject was dealt with in a sensitive and positive manner.
