Jan-Jun ’96 ABC Figures: Angling, Boating And Children’s Sectors

The Jan-Jun ’96 ABC figures which were released this morning show that, within the angling sector, circulation performances were generally poor. Improve Your Course Fishing was the strongest performer with an increase of 1.8% (or 1,050 copies) to 58,585, whilst Stillwater Trout Angler and Trout Fisherman showed decreases in circulation of 12.8% and 6.7% respectively. Angler’s Mail fared the worst, dropping 14.7% to just over 52,000 copies.

Amongst the boating titles all publications showed an increase. Yachting World showed an increase of 4.1%, or 32,794 copies, and Motorboat & Yachting increased by 4.7% to 21,287.

Within the children’s sector most titles also recorded an increase in circulation: Noddy Magazine had the biggest increase, growing by 20% to over 51,000. BBC Toybox also performed strongly, with an increase of 18% to 130,000 copies. Spot Magazine showed the largest decline of 17.7%, down to 37,163 copies. Girl Talk, which recorded its first ABC figure, showed a strong circulation within the sector with over 100,000 copies being sold.
