Jan-Jun ’96 ABC Figures: Women’s Monthly Sector

IPC, which has the most titles out of all the publishing companies in the women’s monthlies sector, has had a mixed response for the beginning of the year. Titles such as Ideal Home, Marie Claire, Woman’s Own, Family Circle and Woman have all increased in their circulation whereas Eva‘s circulation has decreased by 23.3% and Options has had a smaller drop in circulation of 5.3%.

Most of the home interest titles have either lost circulation or have remained fairly static, DMG Home Interest Magazine’s title Perfect Home had the biggest fall of 26.4% but EMAP’s Period Living had a rise of 27.79% on last year’s figure.

The National Magazine Company’s titles have had different results, She, Country Living, Good Housekeeping and Company all have had small decreases in circulation but House Beautiful, Cosmopolitan and Harpers & Queen have had steady increases on the same period last year.

BBC Magazines title BBC Homes & Antiques had the strongest performance in the Women’s Monthlies market with an increase of 33,028 but Northern & Shell’s OK Weekly had the second biggest drop down to 110,116 from 200,017.
