Jerry Springer’s Who Do You Think You Are? beat the UEFA Champions League Live last night, pulling in more than 6.8 million peak viewers.
The popular BBC One series, which uncovered the American chat show host’s daunting Holocaust past, gained a significant 27% audience share with an average of 6.5 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm.
Meanwhile, ITV’s match between Liverpool and Standard Liege, only attracted 4.6 million average viewers with a 20.7% audience share.
Viewers tuned in to see Liverpool win the game 1-0 following a lucky extra time goal, which banked ITV 5.2 million peak viewers during the last 30 minutes.
Channel 4’s Big Brother picked up a 14% audience share with 3.3 million average viewers between 9pm and 10pm, but added an extra twist to the show, which saw the reality programme draw in a further 3.1 million viewers between 11.05pm and 11.40pm.
Davina McCall set housemates a surprise live task in the first trip to the house yesterday evening, which Sarah and Lisa completed in the second part – gaining an impressive 27.4% audience share in the extra 35 minute programme.
Housemates were forced to nominate each other in front of the whole house in this week’s surprise task, which gave Sarah and Lisa a chance to win £25,000 each.
