BBC One’s popular family history programme banked over 6.2 million viewers last night, more than double the figures of ITV1 and other rival channels between 9pm and 10pm.
The penultimate Who Do You Think You Are?, which saw the former model Jodie Kidd go to Canada to research her family history, attracted more than 6.4 million peak viewers and a 27.7% audience share.
ITV1 failed to compete with Lost in Austen at 9pm, pulling in less than half as many viewers as BBC One, securing just over 3 million and a 13.6% audience share.
Meanwhile, the second episode of Channel 4’s fly-on-the-wall documentary picked up 2.2 million average viewers and a 9.9% audience share during the peak one-hour slot.
The Family, which saw two of the Hughes children keep secrets from their dad, attracted a higher 2.6 million viewers to the debut show last week (see Who Do You Think You Are? Banks Over 6.4 Million Viewers).
Elsewhere, 1.3 million average viewers tuned in to see BBC Two’s Britain’s Youngest Grannies – a programme looking into teenage pregnancy in the UK.
