Johnston Press launches online hub for local businesses

Regional publisher Johnston Press has announced the launch of a new online business community, ‘the hub‘, sharing its local business expertise.

Johnston Press currently works with 300,000 local business customers, and the new site – which is branded according to users’ local Johnston Press title and is free to use – will feature a raft of business tips and resources for entrepreneurs and small business leaders.

The launch follows research conducted by the publisher with the Centre for Economics and Business Research last year, which revealed the hotspots in research, technology, networking and creativity outside of the capital.

The ensuing index ranked Greater Manchester top, followed by Merseyside and the West Midlands, and showcased the high levels of business innovation occurring nationwide that deserved bespoke support.

The launch also marks the launch of Johnston Press’ new content marketing strategy for its business-to-business arm, managed by chief marketing officer, Lucy Sinclair.

“Today’s announcement is a major step for Johnston Press in transforming our approach to B2B marketing,” said Ashley Highfield, CEO of Johnston Press.

“Johnston Press’s news brands have always recognised that small business is the lifeblood of all communities they serve and today’s launch of the hub enables us to continue to connect with our local businesses in a fresh and relevant way.”
