Joint TV Campaign For Cable Companies

NYNEX CableComms and Telewest Communications have joined forces to trial direct-response television advertising in the Granada region.

Grey Integrated is coordinating the campaign; it will focus on cable telephone and lead with an offer of 1,500 minutes of free local weekend calls.

The test will run for three weeks from 20 January. Respondents will be handled by the Decisions Group and transferred immediately to either NYNEX CableComms or Telewest.

Gavin Wheeler, Marketing Communications Manager for NYNEX, said: “This is a new opportunity to explore the power of direct-response television advertising.”

Nynex released its annual results yesterday. It recorded a 78% year on year increase in revenue to £151 million Increased Revenue For Nynex.
