Jonathan King Challenge To Attract One Million Listeners

Jonathan King is set to become the highest paid radio presenter in Britain, in a bid by Talk Radio to boost listeners. He has negotiated a million dollar deal with his bosses at Talk Radio UK, whereby he will be paid the massive sum if he can attract a million new listeners to the station.

Nicknamed the “Million Dollar Mouth”, he has taken up the challenge for his mid-morning show (1000 to 1200). If he manages to increase the audience from 200,000 to 1 million by the end of his three month contract, he will earn £750,000, becoming the country’s highest earning DJ. If he achieves this, it will take Talk Radio UK’s audience figures to 3.1 million.

The American born presenter believes he can do for Talk Radio what Chris Evans did for Radio 1. If he does not reach his target, station bosses have agreed to double his salary, which starts at £45,000 for the 12 week period, every time he reaches set audience figures.
