Figures released by Rank Screen Advertising confirm that Jurassic Park’s first weekend accumulated a record total of £4.87m – over £2m more than the box office success Batman Returns, which hit the screens last July. RSA figures, quoted to MediaTel today, estimate admissions for the weekend at 1.7m-1.8m people, but the final figure has yet to be finalised. Monthly admissions for July 1992 stood at 1.83m.
