Kerrang Reveals Management Team In The West Midlands

Map has revealed its launch team for Kerrang! radio in the West Midlands after successfully securing the licence earlier this month.
The Birmingham based team will include Lynne Wood, who is to become managing director of the new rock station, which will broadcast a mix of national and specially produced local shows.
Wood will report to a newly appointed managing director of Kerrang! radio, who will have a brief to build the K! radio business through programming, distribution and commercial deals.
Emap beat ten other applicants including Capital Radio West Midlands, Jazz FM West Midlands and Virgin Radio West Midlands to secure the licence, which is Kerrang’s first foray onto the FM waveband (see Kerrang! To Rock West Midlands).
Emap recently announced plans to become the first company to offer interactivity across its portfolio of digital radio services on the Freeview platform. Listeners will be able to access multiple pages of extra information and promotions whilst listening to Emap’s digital radio stations(see Emap To Offer Interactivity On Digital Radio Platforms).
