Martina King, managing director of ITV sales house TSMS, has been poached by Yahoo! UK & Ireland to become the internet portal’s first UK managing director. King, previously MD at Capital Radio, joined TSMS just three months ago with a brief to attract heavyweight advertisers to the ITV Network.
At Yahoo!, King will fill a similar role in developing strong relationships with UK advertisers, content and e-commerce providers. Reporting to Yahoo! MD, Fabiola Arredondo, she will head a local team of 25, created as part of Yahoo!’s plans to appoint a managing director in each of its European regions.
King joins Yahoo in October and it is understood that TSMS currently has no direct replacement.
