Kiss Signs DJ Paul Oakenfold as New Ambassador

Kiss Bauer’s Kiss Radio has announced the signing of its latest ambassador, DJ Paul Oakenfold, to represent its ‘Music is Life’ philosophy.

The DJ will present a series of music programmes featuring the history of dance music from the last 20 years, starting with a special Ibiza broadcast later this month.

Oakenfold first broadcast on Kiss in 1985 but is more recently known for his remixes of Madonna and Elvis tracks as well as Channel 4’s Big Brother theme tune.

Andy Roberts, group programme director at Kiss, said: “We’re delighted to have Paul back on the station – from the original kiss line up on Kiss 100 in 1985 to becoming one of the original superstar DJs – it’s great to get his take on where dance music is now.”

This signing comes just three months after Kiss signed Sam Branson as its green ambassador (see Kiss Radio Signs Sam Branson As Green Ambassador) – he is currently fronting the Kiss the Planet campaign.

Kiss has also launched a major marketing campaign for the Rickie and Melvin breakfast show and is set to support a number of events this summer, including the O2 Wireless Festival (see Kiss 100 Kick Starts A New Breakfast Show Campaign).

The latest RAJAR figures, for Q1 2008, show that Kiss 100 FM’s weekly reach grew by more than 16.7% year on year, giving it a total of almost 1.6 million listeners (see Kiss Appoints New Daytime Editor).
