Chris Smith, the National Heritage Secretary and the Sports Minister Tony Banks are considering curbing the power that BSkyB currently wields over broadcast sports events *Question Mark Still Hangs Over Sky’s Football Coverage.
They may extend the number of listed events currently prohibited from being shown exclusively on subscription channels. There are also plans to investigate whether provisions to ensure radio coverage of sports events are strong enough.
