Ladette To Lady on ITV1 managed to snare more viewers than Ricky Gervais’ new series of Extras on BBC Two last night.
The programme, which follows a group of uncouth young women as they endeavour to complete finishing school, lured 4.4 million adult viewers on average, taking a 22% audience share in the 9pm timeslot.
Extras, which last night starred Sir Ian Mckellen, was watched by an average of 3.2 million adult viewers (17%), followed by That Mitchell And Webb Look, which took just over two million adult viewers (10.5%).
Ancient Rome: The Rise And Fall Of An Empire on BBC One, which focused on the story of the Jewish revolt, pulled in 3.2 million adult viewers on average, which indicated a 16.5% viewing share.
Earlier on ITV1, The Bill managed to gain more adult viewers on average than What Not To Wear on BBC one. The long-running police drama took a 25% audience share between 8pm and 9pm (4.9 million) whilst the makeover show that was formerly hosted by style duo Trinny and Susannah took a 21% audience share, being watched by 4.1 million adults on average.
The last edition of Autumnwatch, which showed spectacular footage of red deer and seal colonies, was seen by 3.5 million adults, taking an 18% audience share in the 8pm-9pm timeslot.
Sharon Osborne’s talk show on ITV1 once again haemorrhaged viewers in the 5pm-6pm timeslot, being watched by just over 860,00 adults on average (an 8% audience share), compared to Paul O’Grady’s programme on Channel 4, which took a 21% audience share or an average of 2.1 million adult viewers.
