An ever-growing list of UK media sites on the Internet now includes the Reed regional title, the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. The site launched last week and although some parts are under construction it already carries daily news and sport taken from the paper.
There are plans to include ads from the paper for the classified motoring, property and market place sections; these should be live within two weeks. The Lancashire Evening Telegraph told MediaTel that it hopes to add display advertisements soon too; one they are considering is sponsorship of the sports news pages, as these are proving very popular.
Other Reed regional titles which are soon to be joining the web are the Bolton Evening News, Citizen Newspapers, Leigh Journal, St. Helens Star and Bury Journal.
