Laser Announces New Macro

Laser has announced the arrival of a new Northern macro to be known as Laser North. From 1st January 1998, airtime for Granada, Border, Yorkshire and Tyne Tees can be bought as a single unit.

By unifying the two existing northern macros, Yorkshire Television and Tyne Tees, and Granada Television and Border, Laser hopes to provide advertisers with substantial benefits, including ease of negotiation, purchase and administration.

In addition, it is believed that a larger BARB panel of homes will give greater stability of ratings and hence, trading. Furthermore, the co-ordination of business to business campaigns will be simpler. The four regions can still be sold together and individually or by their existing macros.
