Late Entry For Grade’s Job
Howard Stringer, who used to be responsible for one of America’s top 3 TV networks, CBS, has emerged as a late contender for Michael Grade’s job as chief executive at Channel 4.
It is reported that Stringer, a Welshman, has been in London discussing the job with headhunters. According to Sunday Business, is not a question of whether he is offered the job, but whether he will accept it.
Michael Jackson, the BBC’s director of TV, has already turned the job down, but is apparently now reconsidering it. Alan Yentob, BBC director of programmes and John Willis, Channel 4’s programme chief, are now said to be out of the running.
