The ITC has agreed to vary the build timetable in the licence for Eurobell Ltd, the local delivery licensee for West Kent.
Eurobell had indicated that it had been unable to start construction in West Kent due to delays in the granting of the licence under the Telecommunications Act 1984. The ITC has reluctantly agreed to a request that its target completion date be delayed by one year to 31 December 2000.
Announcing the revised timetable, Peter Rogers, the ITC chief executive, said: “It is disappointing that Eurobell has been unable to meet either its original timetable or even the subsequent revision for the reasons noted. It is only in exceptional circumstances that timetables will be revised.”
