LinkedIn share price almost doubles

LinkedIn shares were up 90% in its public trading debut today.

The shares rose to $85.18 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange, 89.3% above their initial $45 public offering price.

That pushes the market value of the social network to around $8 billion (£4 billion), according to Reuters.

LinkedIn sold 7.84 million shares for $45 each, for a total of $352.8 million yesterday (Wednesday).
