Living is launching its own on-demand player on the Virgin Media platform this autumn.
The Living Player will offer a seven-day catchup service for all of the channel’s key content, including Ghost Whisperer, Grey’s Anatomy, and Most Haunted.
As well as offering a catch-up service, the player will also showcase Living’s library of commissions and acquisitions.
Virgin Media customers will also be able to watch programmes in HD via the player.
The player – which will be available to Virgin Media XL customers free of charge – is expected to launch on PC later in the year.
Chris Collie, Virgin Media Television’s head of scheduling and channel strategy assumes the role of Living Player’s channel editor, in addition to his current responsibilities across VMtv’s wholly-owned portfolio.
Claudia Rosencrantz, Virgin Media Television’s director of television, said: “Living Player will provide the ultimate on-demand fix of entertainment for our viewers, offering everything they want, whenever they want it.
Johnny Webb, VMtv managing director, added: “Living is consolidating its position at the front of the pay-TV pack. With HD also launching later in 2009, Living Player is yet another example of the way VMtv is embracing the brave new world of brilliant brands across every screen.”
