London Based Heart 106.2 To Run Disney Promotion

London-based Heart 106.2 is to run a week long promotional campaign for Walt Disney World on its breakfast show.
The promotion, which will begin next week, will include a daily competition to win a family holiday to Walt Disney World in Florida. Listeners will be invited to call in and answer as many Disney related questions as possible in 30 seconds.
Debbie Armogie, sponsorship and promotion controller at Chrysalis-owned Heart 106.2, commented: “We are delighted that Walt Disney World has chosen the Heart 106.2 breakfast show for this promotion. With great prizes to give away every day, Jono and Emma will undoubtedly make this campaign a great success.”
The latest RAJAR data for the period ending December 2002 shows that Heart 106.2’s weekly reach increased by 6% year on year to 1,811,000, up from 1,708,000 in the same period the previous year.
Analysis of Heart 106.2’s weekly reach between December 1999 and December 2002 shows the station has seen its weekly reach increase over this period, with the exception of a dip during the three months December 2000 (see above).
The latest figures from Radio Advertising Bureau show that commercial radio has been boosted by the increasing popularity of sponsorship and promotions, which helped the industry to see its total revenue for 2002 increase by 2.5% year on year to £562.8 million (see Commercial Radio Boosted By Sponsorship And Promotions).
