London Burns BBC’s Pride

BBC’s latest ‘classic’ adaptation – Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice – failed to dent the viewing figures of long time LWT favourite London’s Burning. Whilst London’s Burning achieved an average individual TVR of 27 (14.133m), Pride and Prejudice was only watched by 9.457m individuals (18 Tars).

Sky Sports’ coverage of the Ryder Cup gave the channel a weekly share of viewing figure of 7.1% – its highest weekly share since it first appeared on the Astra listing (5/5/91).

The return of Live and Kicking to BBC1’s Saturday morning schedule increased the channels weekend breakfast ratings, achieving a peak quarter hour audience of 2.6m – up 0.9m on the previous week.

Overall the best performance this week came from non terrestrial TV which achieved 9.5% weekly share, up 0.9% points on the previous week; and an average viewing per head of 2:15 – up 12 minutes on the previous week and 40 minutes up on the same period in 1994.
