LOVEFiLM boosts content offering

LOVEFiLM has bolstered its content offering following new licensing deals with the BBC and ITV.

The service will now be able to show Doctor Who, Prime Suspect, Spooks and Planet Earth. The new content adds to the 70,000 film titles that the company already offers.

LOVEFiLM is expected to announce that it has pushed through the two million customer mark this week in a bid to detract from Netflix’s UK launch.

The Amazon-owned company also signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television for films including The Social Network last month.
