LOVEFiLM launches app for iPhone and iPod Touch

Amazon-owned LOVEFiLM has announced the launch of an app for iPhone and iPod Touch users in the UK.

Available for free, the LOVEFiLM Instant app will allow subscribers to stream films and TV series from the service’s catalogue for the first time, alongside a ‘watchlist function’ which lets users find titles they have added from other devices.

AirPlay support has also been introduced into the app, which will give users the option to wirelessly stream content from their mobile device to television screens using Apple TV.

“Launching the state of the art LOVEFiLM Instant supplication on the iPhone and iPod Touch is very exciting for us and great news for our members,” said chief marketing officer Simon Morris.

“Not only does is make out market-leading catalogue of film and TV series more portable and accessible than ever before, but with AirPlay support viewers can also benefit from the big screen experience.”
