L!ve TV has bravely entered the cut-throat arena of securing football coverage for cable viewers. The bid is rumoured to be £10,000 per year for 20 live games and the target of L!ve TV’s interest is none other than…the Pontins League.
The league, made up of the reserve teams of northern Premiership and Football League clubs, is considering the offer. It is somewhat less than other bids for football coverage: the offer falls slightly short of the £304 million deal offered by Sky TV for Premiership coverage, and Sky’s other bid of £125 million for Endlseigh League action.
A spokesman for L!ve TV told MediaTel that the Pontins League would offer dedicated football fans a wide variety of football action from up-and- coming players and teams.
