LWT Approaches YTTV

LWT has made a preliminary approach to take over Yorkshire Tyne Tees. The move has been confirmed by the Yorkshire board.

The move follows speculation after Granada’s bid for LWT was rejected; LWT was expected to make a take over bid itself in order to block Granada.

Last night in the House of Lords the measure allowing takeovers was passed. Companies can now therefore hold two licences in the large ITV areas.
