LWT Promise Revitalised Schedule

At a presentation last night LWT revealed the schedule it believes will revitalise its Winter schedule and erase memories of disasters like Man O Man and The Shane Ritchie Experience. Granada chief David Liddiment admitted that LWT had experienced problems in the past, especially with the Spring schedule, but believed the Winter programmes are “fresher and more vibrant than ever.”

New offerings include Millenium, a drama with a supernatural slant from the makers of the X-Files; The Grand, a period drama following events in a 1920s hotel; a dramatisation of Daphne DuMaurier’s Rebecca starring Charles Dance and Diana Rigg; and The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous, a drama about a man paid to put the “zing” back into marriages.

There will also be new series for A Touch of Frost, Wycliffe and Prime Suspect and Coronation Street will begin broadcasting its fourth episode this Sunday.

Movie premieres lined up include Philadelphia, Lawnmower Man, Another Stakeout, Look Who’s Talking Now, Rookie, Sister Act 2 and Mermaids, while early Saturday peaktime will get be ‘refreshed’ with Sabrina the Witch replacing New Baywatch.
