LWT has signed a deal with MTV Europe to screen highlights of the 1996 MTV Europe Music Awards. The awards will be broadcast live on MTV at 20.00 to 22.00 CET on Thursday November 14 and the edited highlights will be shown on LWT at 23.00 GMT on Saturday November 16.
The event takes place at London’s Alexandra Palace with the LWT version hosted by Andi Peters, the popular children’s presenter, and former Take That star, Robbie Williams, will be hosting the live event. The line-up includes George Michael, Peter Andre, Boyzone and Garbage.
Mark Lawrence, head of acquisitions at Granada/LWT said: “We are very pleased to have signed this agreement with MTV Europe. The show will make an exciting addition to LWT’s programming line-up on Saturday 16 and we’re expecting an enthusiastic response from our viewers.”
Mitsubishi Motors and Lee Jeans will be sponsoring the show.
