Lycos has signed a deal with Maxim to support the launch of its new Sex & Relationship channel, aimed at the over 25 year old market.

The deal will see Dennis Publishing’s men’s lifestyle title provide editorial content for the site, which aims to provide relationship advice, sexual health information and agony aunt-style services. The channel also includes an online version of the Lover’s Guide and links to the Lycos shopping site.
Lycos UK & Ireland’s managing director, Alex Kovach, said: “The new channel has been designed in response to the lack of quality sex and relationship content on the internet and will house ever-increasing amounts of information and services from reputable partners.”
Earlier in the week, ISP Freeserve poached the editor of IPC’s Marie Claire website to head its own women’s website iCircle (see Freeserve Poaches Marie Claire’s Online Editor). Sarah Woodhead, who also previously edited IPC’s now defunct Beme.com, has been recruited to help Freeserve’s iCircle compete in the lucrative women’s sector.
