M & A SELL DOLPHIN SITES
Mills & Allen has sold all the 600 London panels owned by its subsidiary Dolphin Media to KMS Advertising plc, a company specialising in the premium end of the 48 and 96-sheet market. The panels were sold for £1.3m and the transaction is subject to approval by the Office of Fair Trading.
Mills acquired Dolphin in 1991 and was recommended by the MMC to sell all the 48-sheet and larger panels. 450 sites have already been sold to Poster Power and another 66 to Baillie, and 166 panels to Metro.
The OAA’s chairman, Roger Fernley has responded angrily to criticism from Alan Simmons, managing director of Concord, in Outdoor Insite. (Newsline 17/8)
In an open letter to Mr Simmons, Mr Fernley rejects accusations about the availability of data on UK poster sites as well as denying that campaigns are not posted on time. He writes that, “The speed of billposting has never been better” and adds that there is a 24-hour guarantee on posting.
