M & C Saatchi Partner To Chair AA

The Advertising Association (AA) has named David Kershaw as its new chairman. A partner at M&C Saatchi, Kershaw will replace James Best, group chairman of BMP DDB, when he steps down next month following five years in the role.

Kershaw has been in the advertising business for over 20 years, spending time working in New York before returning to London to join Saatchi & Saatchi in 1982. Commenting on his appointment at the council meeting where the unanimous decision to appoint was made last Thursday he said:

“The AA has a crucial role in protecting the freedom of commercial speech and I will endeavour to emulate James’s very effective term of office.”
