Kelvin MacKenzie, managing director of L!ve TV, will become deputy chief executive and group managing director of the Mirror Group.
He will take on an expanded role following the retirement of Charles Wilson, the current managing director. It will also give him operational control over the group’s national newspapers as well as it’s television interests.
The news coincides with Liam Kane’s resignation as director of the group and managing director of the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail. The company said his departure was by mutual consent and added that its operations would be represented on the board by Chris Oakley, who is currently responsible for its Midlands and Belfast titles.
